Dear Fellowship Applicant, 

Thank you for your interest in our fellowship program. Before proceeding with the application, please carefully review the following eligibility criteria and required application materials. All applicants must meet these requirements to be considered for selection. 

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Completed an ACGME-accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program in the United States and is Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  2. Possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) diploma without reservation. Fellows must have an active, unrestricted license to practice in the U.S. If a graduate of a foreign medical school, they must have evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification.
  3. Successful completion of USMLE Step I, Step II, Step III, and CREOG in Residency Examinations.
  4. Be appropriately board-certified or board-eligible in OB-GYN. 
  5. Completed physical residency and not be enrolled simultaneously in any other Fellowship program at the start of the AFMIGS Fellowship.
  6. Be U.S. citizens.

Required Application form:

  1. MD or DO diploma without reservations.
  2. Two letters of recommendation, including one from a supervising faculty member or colleague, and another from the Program Director or Chairman, where the applicant completed residency. 
  3. A curriculum vitae (CV) describing education and relevant experience.
  4. A personal statement reflecting on career goals and reasons for applying to the Fellowship program.

Note: Before hiring, a comprehensive background check will be conducted for each trainee, including a criminal background check, sex offender and predator registry search, HHS/OIG Exclusions Database, GSA list of parties excluded from federal programs, U.S. Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) List of Specially Designated Nationals (SDN), state specific Exclusion List, and a professional disciplinary action search.
